Kidney failure is not a simple disease that can just be tracked by urea or creatinine values alone; it indirectly affects many organ systems including the cardiovascular system, bone calcium metabolism (Osteodystrophy), and lungs. As Bali Dialysis Center, our medical philosophy is not just having our patients go in and out of dialysis machines, but supporting and keeping all their organ and tissue function qualities under control with periodic medical imaging (Radiology, Cardiology) examinations.
Through regular imaging and follow-up services we perform within our clinic and via our strong partner physician network, we detect possible complications long before they bother the patient and perform early interventions (preventive medicine).
Comprehensive Imaging Organization with Contracted Centers
Daily routine ECG calibrations and basic follow-ups are performed instantly at the clinic by our Responsible Physician and our intensive care experienced nurses. For advanced radiological examinations beyond this, our center makes special organizations with "Contracted Private Imaging and Heart Centers" without tiring its patients.
- X-Ray (Chest Radiography - Tele): When there is a suspicion of heart enlargement (Cardiomegaly) or fluid accumulation in the lung (pulmonary edema), chest x-rays are taken and evaluated swiftly to make a clearer determination of dry weight.
- Color Doppler Ultrasonography (Fistula Tracking): The blood flow rate, vessel thickening, and narrowings (stenosis, thrombosis) in the arteriovenous (A-V) fistulas, which act as the "lifeline" of patients entering dialysis, are regularly mapped out with doppler ultrasound by a contracted cardiovascular surgery team. If needed, patients are referred to vascular surgery follow-up without wasting time for angiography or new intervention (PTA - balloon) procedures.
- Bone Density Measurement (Bone Densitometry - DEXA): Scanning plans are organized in annual or six-month periods to detect renal bone diseases that may be experienced due to intense phosphorus/parathormone toxicity and the inability of failed kidneys to activate Vitamin D.
- Echocardiography (ECHO - Heart Ultrasound): Cardiovascular structure is very sensitive in kidney patients. Left ventricular enlargement and insufficiency symptoms are screened by echocardiography within the scope of regular cardiology physician consultations.
Appointment, Transfer, and Swift Result Coordination
Our dialysis patients are never troubled with waiting in lines for radiological appointments. When advanced imaging devices are needed;
Bali Dialysis Center medical secretaries create a VIP appointment slot at the contracted hospital for the relevant department. Our patient is transported to our center or the contracted institution accompanied by our clinic shuttle vehicles (transfer services) and supported by healthcare personnel if necessary. As soon as the scan is performed, the digital radiology reports (PACS system) drop directly into the computer of the responsible physician and consultant Nephrologist present in our center.
